In 1876 T. F. Dove began the practice of law in Shelbyville, Illinois. In 1904 he was joined in the practice by his sons, Franklin R. Dove and T. Clark Dove, with the firm name then becoming Dove & Dove, Attorneys at Law. Franklin R. Dove left the firm in 1921 upon his election as Circuit Judge; he served in that capacity for 50 years. The firm continued with Robert I. Dove, partnering with his uncle, R. Clark Dove, in 1932. In 1967, Franklin E. Dove joined his father Robert I. Dove in the firm and in 1974, E. C. Eberspacher became the third member. Elizabeth Eberspacher Nohren and Walter B. Lookofsky joined the firm as full members in 2004. With over 100 years of continuous legal service to the community, Dove & Dove, Attorneys at Law, enters its third century with four attorneys offering a combined total of over eighty years of experience providing legal services to individual and business clients across the counties of Central-Southern Illinois. |

Dove & Dove, Attorneys at Law, engages in the general practice of law and offers both transactional services and representation in contested litigation in a broad range of substantive practice areas. The four attorneys tend to concentrate their general practices into particular areas but are available and often do combine their efforts with two or more attorneys working for a single client at a given time depending upon that client’s needs. In addition, the firm has excellent, dedicated and experienced support staff. Deanna L. Yantis, Jennifer Houck, Amber Atchley, Sue Bower and together provide support service to the firm’s attorneys and their legal representation for clients. This practice arrangement permits the firm to offer current expertise in particular substantive areas of the law while providing a full range of legal representation.
